【摘要】Using a detailed household-level panel data from the Statistics Norway, we examine the effect of income volatility on households' investment decisions. We find a clear negative relationship between the individual-specic income volatility and the share of risky assets in nancial portfolios. A worker who experiences a 33% increase in income volatility (measured by the standard deviation of income growth) exhibits 4.4 percentage point decrease in the risky share.
