【摘要】 In applied research, heterogeneity and endogeneity are very common phenomena. However, in most duration studies, homogeneity is usually imposed and endogeneity has been largely ignored. Consequently, a large portion of empirical research based on conventional duration models could potentially be highly misleading. In this talk I will discuss these issues and explain the complications in accommodating heterogeneity and endogeneity in duration models. Further, I will propose a quantile regression model with endogeneity, which provides a natural framework in dealing with heterogeneity and endogeneity.
