The Department of Econometrics at the School of Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, invites applications for tenure-track positions in AI Econometrics at all levels (assistant, associate, or full professor). The positions are hosted by the Department of Econometrics. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, research funds, housing allowances, plus standard fringe benefits.
We seek scholars who view AI not as a substitute for econometric reasoning, but as a set of tools that demand new identification and inference frameworks. We are particularly interested in candidates working at the intersection of econometrics and artificial intelligence, including but not limited to:
1.AI-assisted causal inference and partial identification
2.Generative and neural causal models
3.Reinforcement learning econometrics
4.Large language models in econometrics
Senior candidates should have an established publication record in leading econometrics, statistics, or economics journals (e.g.Econometrica, Journal of Econometrics, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Machine Learning Research, Annals of Statistics), and must possess a Ph.D. by July 2027. Junior candidates should have completed (or be near completion of) a Ph.D. in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field by Summer 2027, and should submit a job market paper whose topic is at the intersection of econometrics and artificial intelligence.
