【摘要】 A political spectrum is a chart that positions various political views within a multi-dimensional coordinate system to illustrate their ideological distance. We develop a framework based on which a political spectrum can be constructed for all social choice problems. We show that the dimensionality of the constructed spectrum constitutes a reasonable measure of complexity for the social choice problem in the sense that a problem with a lower dimensional spectrum is less vulnerable to the problem of voting cycles and more likely to have a candidate with a decent popular support.
