The
Department of Economics at NUS has been established since 1934. It has
about 50 faculty members and it offers a wide selection of courses in
undergraduate and graduate level covering wide areas of Economics. For

The scholarship includes tuition fee waiver + S$2000 stipend per month
before passing qualifying exam (QE) (and S$2500 stipend per month
after passing QE). For very good students, the department can admit you
into its PhD programme with TOEFL and GRE waived,
i.e. if you are a very good student, you may be admitted into our PhD
programme even though you don't take TOEFL and GRE tests!!
The admission exercise for August-intake 2014 will start now. As previous years, we exercise again an early admission offer commitment in this round. If you are interested in applying for the PhD programme, please send your application material to ecsbox1@nus.edu.sg by

• Your transcripts
For local students, the interview will be conducted in the first week
of October. For students from China, we will conduct interview in
Beijing and Shanghai between 22 and 28 of September. For students
living in other regions, interviews will be conducted via Skype between
22 and 28 of September.
