【摘要】In this paper we study optimal social insurance arrangements when people care about consumption not only for its own sake but also for the status it implies. We show that the concern for status does impact the optimal contract under different information structures. Particularly, we develop the restrictions for the efficient allocations under full information without commitment problem, self-insurance only, and moral hazard.
