【摘要/Abstract】This essay illustrates a fundamental challenge in analyzing the learning dynamics of the inflation rate. We examine the puzzles raised by Bullard (1994), revealing possible flaws of the conventional approach by Marcet and Sargent (1989a) and Marcet and Nicolini (2003) to investigate the learning dynamics of inflation. We describe how to resolve the puzzles, applying the general method developed by Cho (2018). Through the general method, we confirm the validity of the conclusion of Marcet and Sargent (1989a) and Marcet and Nicolini (2003) despite possible flaws in methodology, if not analysis.
